Year 2 welcomed Mr Campetti who led a Lego workshop to support our work in Design Technology. He spoke to us about the history of wheels and how they had evolved over time. Children were introduced to the word axel and came to understand how it works in a mechanism. Year 2 were challenged to build a car including wheels and an axel, to transport 3 blocks down a ramp. We enjoyed testing and improving our designs. Year 2 now look forward to applying their understanding of mechanisms to their DT project in class.
