Our “Peace Project,” commemorating the centenary of the Armistice at the end of World War 1, will give all of our children the opportunity to reflect on the theme of peace and we hope to make a lasting memorial in the form of a pair of large tiled “Peace” pictures to go on our walls outside the school (on the left by the office).
Every child will make their own 15 x 15cm tile and these will be put together to form the two “Peace” pictures. The centre of each picture will have a quotation or a piece of scripture – we would love to know what parents' views are about the quotes/scripture we use. Some options we are considering are:
“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be Children of God.” Matthew 5:9
“For our tomorrows, they gave their today.” Kohima Epitaph
“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.” Romans 12:18
“Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” Psalm 34: 14
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you.” John 14:27
“We will remember them”
“Mercy, peace and love be yours in abundance.” Jude 1:2
We would love to know what you think about which quotes we should use – or if you have any other ideas!
