Sports Day 2023

Sports Day will be held on the morning of Friday 9^th June. More details to follow. Children should wear a t-shirt in their house colour if possible. If you don’t know what that is, please contact the office.

Children are invited to design a program front cover in pencil on A5 paper to be handed to class teachers by Thursday 25^th May. Designs must include “Cardinal Newman Sports Day 2023” and the date of “9^th June”.

Community Service Award

Nominations for a Community Service Award are inivited. Has your child used their gifts and made a contribution to society? If they have done something amazing - perhaps as part of Girlguiding or Scouting for example - we would love to hear about it! Please email the office with details.

Travelling Book Fair 

Thank you so much for all your support with the recent book fair, we raised an amazing £800 from your purchases which enabled us to buy all these new fabulous books for our library! Thank you!

BBC Royally Big Portrait 

One of our younger pupils Grace took part in the BBC Royally Big Portrait Project. She submitted two portraits and loved taking part. Grace drew one portrait at home and the other was sketched directly at the event. Well done Grace!

Royal Academy artwork 

Tom had his self-portrait accepted into the Royal Academy Young Artists’ Summer Show 2023. They had 21,000 submissions so well done Tom!

The Big Help Out - Thank you!

A big thank you to our sponsors Garsons who donated plants, seeds and compost for the Big Help out today. Also a huge thank you to those who volunteered and donated plants. Our flower beds look great again!

Diversity Celebration Day - Donations and volunteers needed!

On Friday 19^th May, between 3.00 and 4.00pm we will celebrate diversity in our school by sharing finger foods from other countries.  Parents will be able to take their children to the hall after school to taste a variety of foods.

There will be tables with finger food from lots of countries.  We are fortunate to have such a wealth of diversity and it is lovely for the children to see their own cultures and favourite foods celebrated in school with their friends.

So far we have parents who will organise English, Polish, Irish and Italian foods.  Each table will need finger foods related to that country.   If groups get together to decide on one item to contribute each, there should be lots of food.  (Please list the ingredients of the food and remember that this is a NUT FREE school.

Please let Ms. Hunt know if you can organise and arrange with some other parents or friends to provide a range of finger foods from a country you are familiar with.   We would love the tables to reflect our school family.

School Dinners

Please remember to book school dinners on Scopay at least 1 day in advance or ring the school office before 9am if you have left it too late to book/cancel online for that day.

Allergies

If your child has an allergy please make sure the school office is informed. Please check the menu carefully before booking lunch for your child.
