8th July, 2022

Good Afternoon,

Please see below news from this week. Have a lovely weekend.

Notes/Reminders

Teacher-led Clubs

There will be no teacher-led clubs the last week of term.

Library Reading Summer Challenge

The Summer Reading Challenge, presented by The Reading Agency and delivered by libraries, encourages children aged from 4 to 11 to continue reading throughout the summer holidays. The aim of the Challenge is to read up to six books, collecting special stickers and rewards along the way. Children will need to be a member of the library to sign up for the challenge but joining the library does not take long and is free. All reading counts including audiobooks, eBooks and eComics! More information can be found on the library website.

Key Found today

Key found on the playground today. Please collect from the school office.

Parking Permits for September 2022

If you would like to apply for or renew your parking permit for Hersham Station for the next academic year, please email the office giving your name, address and car registration.

School Dinners

Please remember to book school dinners at least 1 week in advance or ring the school office before 9 am if you have left it too late to book online for that day.

Lost Property

There is a huge amount of lost property in the red box at the moment. Please have a look through it as it will be disposed of at the end of term. Thank you.

Surrey Arts Holiday Activities

Surrey Arts have planned a number of exciting musical holiday activities for this summer! Click here for more information.

Baracudas Holiday Camp

We're looking forward to our Cobham camp opening in less than 3 weeks now!

We also wanted to share a discount code with you for your parents to use for all Barracudas bookings. We’re offering parents at your school £15 off our local camp with the code SCHOOLS15. With just over 2 weeks until the school summer holidays start, parents won’t want to miss out on booking with a trusted and reliable provider, helping ease their childcare arrangements this summer.

eSafety and Safeguarding

Reminder: Keeping children safe online and in the real world

At Cardinal Newman School we are always reminding the children how they can keep themselves safe whether in the real world or in the virtual world. Class teachers regularly use the Zones of Regulation to assess how the children in their classes are feeling. Children are encouraged to share their worries using the ‘What I want my teacher to know boxes’ which are in each Key Stage 2 classrooms and the Worry Monsters which can be found in the Keys Stage 1 Classrooms.

Information to support parents can be found on the school website here.

Please continue to report any safeguarding concerns to Mr Flower (Designated Safeguarding Lead) or Mrs Burnham (Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead).
