All Saints Parish - Altar Servers needed

All Saints parish are looking for new children to join their altar server team and are hoping that some of the children who have just received their First Holy Communion would like to help the parish in this way.   We plan to run new Altar Server training sessions over the summer and in September.  All new servers will always serve with an experienced partner until they are confident in the role.  Once on the rota a server would be asked to serve once every 3-4 weeks and duties can be swapped at short notice to accommodate sports matches.  Being an Altar Server is a great way to continue your child’s active participation in the Mass after receiving their First Communion.  Please contact Sarah Rice on slcrice0@gmail.com if interested or see her (the flute player in the choir) after 9am Mass at All Saints this Sunday .  Thank you.

“Dad Matters” project

Home-Start is very excited to be rolling out the “Dad Matters” project across North Surrey. Already successfully running in Greater Manchester, the project supports Dads-to-be and Dads in the early months of parenthood to have the best possible relationship with their babies and young children, through workshops, peer support, one-to-one-support and signposting.

We have an exciting full-time opportunity for someone to deliver and develop this hugely important project and would like to publicise the role to those who have the most recent and relevant experience of parenting babies and young children.

Children will need to be a member of the library to sign up for the challenge but joining the library does not take long and is free. All reading counts including audiobooks, eBooks and eComics! eSafety and Safeguarding

Reminder: Keeping children safe online and in the real world

At Cardinal Newman School we are always reminding the children how they can keep themselves safe whether in the real world or in the virtual world. Class teachers regularly use the Zones of Regulation to assess how the children in their classes are feeling. Children are encouraged to share their worries using the ‘What I want my teacher to know boxes’ which are in each Key Stage 2 classrooms and the Worry Monsters which can be found in the Keys Stage 1 Classrooms.

Information to support parents can be found on the school website here.

Please continue to report any safeguarding concerns to Mr Flower (Designated Safeguarding Lead) or Mrs Burnham (Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead).
