22nd April, 2022

Dear Parents

Welcome back and happy Easter!  I hope you had a lovely break and enjoyed some family time in the sunshine.  A very brief note from me today, but there is lots more information to read below!  Enjoy the weekend!

Photos from recent school events can be found on the school website here.

Covid Update

You will be aware that Covid guidance has changed nationally.  Schools are no longer recording Covid guidance separately to other illness and so the guidance is as for any other illness - if your child has a temperature and appears too unwell to attend school, please keep them at home, but if they are well, they should attend school as normal.  There is no longer a national requirement to test, but if you choose to do a Covid test which turns out to be positive, you are advised to keep your child at home for the following five days or until their temperature is back to normal.  Please do get in touch if you have any questions about this.

Coffee and Conversation

Next Friday morning, there is coffee and conversation with the Headteacher after school drop off.  All parents are welcome to attend and questions should be sent to the school office by the end of Wednesday please.  If you cannot attend, please feel free to send in any general questions about the life of the school.  Amongst other topics, we will be reviewing the school's RSHE / PSHE Policies which can be found here.

We wish you a happy weekend.

Catherine Burnham

KS2 AGT Science Webinars

Our pupils have the chance to take part in a series of Science webinars offered by ExpertEdLive, an online programme offering the opportunity to connect with expertise from across the UK and beyond. ‘Summer Science’ aims to offer some stretch and challenge to pupils in Key Stage 2 and to encourage conversations about Science between children and their parents. Parents are strongly encouraged to attend together with their child.

The series will be hosted Dr Becky Waldram, a materials engineer from Swansea University. Each week will feature intriguing problems that encourage scientific thinking and discussion of different approaches with input from scientific guests and the audience at home. Participants will also be able to submit their own scientific questions to be answered by our expert guests and attempt takeaway questions between events.

Sessions will be delivered as Zoom webinars on the following dates:

Wednesday 27th April    7.00-7.30pm

Wednesday 4th May        7.00-7.30pm
