Topaz Class Forest School

What wonderful weather we had today to venture out into our Forest School area. Today the children spoke about the risks and hazards of fire and different ways fire can be made. The children explored ways that we can be safe and to look after ourselves while around fire.
They each took turns using our fire starters (flint and steel) to create sparks and produce a flame onto the cotton wool. All the children were very successful and very determined to produce this on their own.
Children also created water shoots by using the gutters to create fast and slow-flowing currents. They also continued with their bird nests from our previous session.
