Year 3/4 Girls' House Football

After bad weather caused the initial competition to be postponed, it was refreshing to see the sun once again shining for the latest inter-house football competition. Over 40 enthusiastic and highly excited girls, resplendent in their house colours, took to the field in eager anticipation. Once again, a large contingent of cheering parents lined the touchline as the action got underway.

This competition proved to be the closest yet and going into the final round of matches, 3 of the 4 houses were in a position to emerge as overall winners. In a thrilling finale, St Clare secured a fantastic 1-0 victory over a strong St Stephen’s team to finish as overall winners whilst St John Bosco were narrowly defeating St Lucy to earn joint second place.

Once again, it was the number of smiling (pink/red) faces, the laughter, the goal celebrations (every team scored at least one goal this year!) and the sheer fun of it all that was the most pleasing aspect of this competition. A huge well done to every girl who took part and also a big thank you to the house captains for their support with refereeing, encouraging and organising their teams!
